Testing is a way for us to measure how our students are learning and growing, and to ensure our schools are providing students with what they need to be successful.
Our schools use a variety of tests. The two most common tests - which are taken by the majority of our students - are the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) Grades 3-8, 10 & 11. We offer the ACT, Practice ACT, and Pre ACT throughout different grades in 9-12. Students also take the ASVAB and PSAT in high school typically during their Junior year. Our elementary (K-5) also uses FastBridge computer adaptive assessments such as aReading, aMath, and CBM.
Below is the District's Testing Calendar for all formal assessments throughout the school year. Included are all tests for all grades, as well as descriptions and time information. Please review and look at this for more information about the assessments/tests used at Alden-Conger.
You may elect to not have your child(ren) participate in the state-required standardized assessments, but you must complete the Minnesota Department of Education's Opt-Out Forms and return them to Emily Stadheim. Below you can find the link to the forms.
