Head Girls Softball Coach

Description
AC/GE has an opening for a head girls softball coach. The work schedule will vary each week with practices, home contests, and road contests, mostly in the afternoon/evening on weekdays. Some Saturday coaching may also be involved. This position is supervised by the Activities Director.
Duties:
-Serve as a positive role model for players, parents and other coaches. Lead the entire program positively and enthusiastically.
-Develop and oversee the program at all levels.
-Teach skills through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for members of the team
-Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength, and agility
-Responsible for all aspects of directing the team's practice and play in contests
-Teach grit, positivity, responsibility, respect and other life lessons through sport
-Monitor player's personal conduct
-Work closely with the AD on developing games/practice/transportation schedules.
-Manage equipment
-Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, coaching staff, AD, and the community
-Other duties as required

Requirements
Ability to work with children of this age; willingness to learn and follow district and MSHSL rules and guidelines; clear understanding of the skills, strategy, and coaching needed at the varsity level; Head Coach Licensure or ability to take the MN Head Coaches Course
