Speech Coach

Alden-Conger has an opening for a speech coach. The scheduling of practices can be variable based on student and coach availability. Most speech contests are on Saturdays. This position is supervised by the Activities Director.

Duties:
-Serve as a positive role model for participants, parents and other coaches. Lead the entire program positively and enthusiastically.
-Provide speech instruction at a level appropriate for members of the team
-Teach grit, positivity, responsibility, respect and other life lessons through speech competition
-Monitor participant’s personal conduct
-Create the contest schedule by entering the team in speech competitions
-Drive participants to contests in a school vehicle
-Communicate clearly with participants, parents, AD, and the community
-Other duties as required

Ability to work with children of this age; effective oral and written communication; willingness to learn and follow district and MSHSL rules and guidelines; having a working knowledge of speech rules and regulations is preferred.
