Paraprofessional – Early Elementary Special Education

Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support early elementary students in our special education program. The paraprofessional will work closely with teachers, specialists, and school staff to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
-Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
-Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with academic tasks and classroom routines.
-Support students in developing communication, social, and self-help skills.
-Assist with behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or support team.
-Supervise students in various settings (classroom, playground, lunchroom, transitions).
-Prepare and organize instructional materials as directed.
-Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Work Schedule:
-Full-time, aligned with the school calendar.
-Position reports to the supervising teacher and PreK-8 principal.

Requirements
-High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of college credits (typically 60 credits), or a passing score on an approved assessment (ParaPro) required or an associate degree or higher preferred.
-Prior experience working with children, particularly students with special needs, is strongly preferred.
-Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively with staff, and build positive relationships with students.
-Patience, flexibility, and a supportive mindset.

Salary
$16.00-18.00/hour
