Dear Alden-Conger Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are so excited to welcome your children back to school and begin another year of learning new things, building friendships, and of course having fun! We hope your family has enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer.

As we start a new school year, we’re proud to continue building on our strong foundation of academic excellence, supportive relationships, and a close-knit school community. This year brings several exciting updates that we’d like to share with you.

New Grade Cohorts

We’re excited to introduce our new 3/4 and 5/6 grade cohorts. These cohort groupings are designed to make the most of our resources while pushing academic standards and supporting student growth. Each cohort will have three core teachers:

• Reading/Language Arts (3/4 Shelly Klocek & 5/6 Steph Hallman)
• Math (3/4 Joy Bryson & 5/6 Chelsea Braun)
• Social Studies/Science (3/4 Malory Heideman & 5/6 Carol Thompson)
  
  

This model will give students a more focused and engaging learning experience.
Additionally, our school structure now officially defines:

• Elementary School: Grades K–4
• Middle School: Grades 5–8
  
  

Important Back-to-School Dates

Kindergarten Transition Week
August 12–14 | 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
A fun and gentle way to help our new kindergarteners get ready for school!

Kindergarten Conferences
August 27 | 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Each kindergarten family will receive a scheduled 15-minute conference time in early August.

Open House & School Pictures (Grades 1–12)
Wednesday, August 27

• School Pictures: 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM (on the stage)
  
  
• Open House: 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM
  This is a great opportunity to meet teachers, tour classrooms, and drop off school supplies.
  
  

First Day of School
Tuesday, September 2
First official day of classes for all students in PreK through Grade 12.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic school year filled with new learning, strong partnerships, and shared success. Thank you for being an essential part of the Alden-Conger school community. We are truly better together!
