My name is Sarah Attig, and I currently teach 6th Grade at the Middle School here at Alden-Conger. I live outside Conger with my husband Jason and our three kids (Austin, Wyatt, and Izzy). I have two dogs and love taking them for long walks on the country roads. I love my job as a teacher, and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything other than teaching and coaching. I enjoy coffee, camping, playing sports, reading, and watching Netflix.
I graduated high school from Northwood-Kensett in 1994, and college from Buena Vista University in 1999 with my degree in Elementary Education. I later added my Middle School Endorsement from Mankato State University in Mankato, and my Master's Degree from St. Mary's University. My first teaching job was in the kindergarten classroom, and from there I have taught almost every grade level in the elementary, middle and senior high schools. I did find my niche in the science and math departments several years ago, and I have been teaching mainly those subjects for the majority of my career.
I started my coaching career in 1994, when I accepted my first job as a Junior High Volleyball Coach while I was attending college. I loved it so much, that I never left. I have coached all levels of athletes in various sports. I have even coached a few boys' teams! The majority of my career has been coaching girls volleyball and softball at the high school level. I'm very passionate about these programs and the athletes in which I interact. Being able to coach is one of the best things about being a teacher....getting the opportunity to develop relationships with kids outside of the classroom.
