These special characters are produced by holding the "alt" key, and pressing combinations of up to three numbers on your number pad. This particular trick, I knew before I took the class. We learned how to make lines of many different sizes and colors. Here are four different variations.
So by using the "noshade" attribute, all the bars are turned grey.
The world Wide Web is the gateway to the Internet. It transports information and files along the Internet's hardware. At the beginning of every Web address, you will see the acronym "www", which stands for World Wide Web, indicating that it is using the World Wide Web to get the information, graphics, text, etc. to your computer screen.
The World Wide Web allows you to view a Web page within a Web site on your computer. It also allows you to see graphics and use hyperlinks. Without the World Wide Web, it would be nearly impossible to navigate the Internet.
HTML is Hypertext Markup Language. We use HTML Coding to create a Web site when Dreamweaver is not available. (Or when the particular assignment your working on entails that you use HTML coding rather than Dreamweaver. Ironic isn't it?) HTML coding is more complex than Dreamweaver, but it is free to use. (whereas Dreamweaver is the most expensive computer program that I have ever seen)
Before Dreamweaver was invented, you had to use HTML coding, there was no way around it. Technology has come a long way, but HTML coding can still be bought up by the touch of a button or two. Sometimes it is easier to modify by using HTML, but as far as I'm concerned, if Dreamweaver is available, i won't be using too much HTML coding.
The Internet is hardware connected together to create a massive worldwide network. Using the World Wide Web, you can pull information from the Internet, to your computer. There are millions of smaller networks that are all interlinked by the Internet. Hence the name Internet=Inter-linked networks.
The Internet connects all computers together. You can access the internet through the World Wide Web, by using an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox (which I prefer) The Internet literally connects the world.
