I grew up in Alden, MN, and attended the Alden-Conger School District from Preschool through 12th grade. I am a 2000 graduate. In 2004, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Sociology from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN. Directly after college I worked as a Substitute Teacher at all of the surrounding schools, and then worked as a Paraprofessional at the New Richland School District for a few years. During the 2009/2010 school year, I did a long-term Special Education subbing position in Alden, and realized at that point that is where my passion lies; therefore, I pursued this, and was hired at the Alden-Conger School District as a full-time DCD Special Education Teacher the following 2010/2011 school year. I worked on a variance while taking on-line classes at Southwest State University, Marshall, MN, to earn my license which took 2-years. During the 2015/2016 school year, the Next S.T.E.P. Transition Program was launched at the Alden-Conger School, and I became the supervisor of this program along with teaching.
I was married in 2006 to Nathaniel Cummings of Wells, MN. In 2008, our daughter, Chloe, was born, and in 2012 our son, Corbin, was born. We enjoy being outdoors, fishing, and raising our meat goats. I also enjoy playing sports. J
